PLAYS OF THE WEEK

Three weeks into the football season and all the top leagues have kicked started as the LA LIGA joined the party this past weekend. As usual we would give you your daily dose of the highs and lows that went down this past weekend, enjoy PLAYS OF THE WEEK match-day 3.

FLOP OF THE WEEK:  Steven N'zonzi (Sevilla).

The french midfielder was making his La Liga debut for the Europa League Champions, and got sent-off with two yellow card challenges before the 29th minute against Malaga. The former Stoke-City man has qualities but cannot seem to control his hot head. Sevilla salvaged a draw anyway.

GOAL OF THE WEEK: Modibo Maiga (West-Ham).

A throwing from Aaron Cresswell meet Modibo Maiga who chested and controlled the ball to attack the space in front of him, He started his solo run towards goal skipping a defender which got him one on one with the Bournemouth goalie who he gave the eyes sending him the wrong way while slotting the ball slowly into the net. West-Ham lost the 4-3, and sources say Maiga has signed for Saudi club AL Nassr on a two year deal.

SAVE OF THE WEEK: Petr Cech (Arsenal).

Liverpool pressed Arsenal high into giving the ball away close to their defensive area which saw Coutinho break into the box, beating Bellerin for pace in the process then sent a square-ball in the defensive area of the Gunners which met Benteke's right foot and looked a certain goal but Cech was quick to react stretching his long hands to push the ball away for a corner. Cech was a shining light for the Gunners on the night as he kept his first clean sheet in the league this term. £10 million pounds well spent.

MATCH OF THE WEEK: West-Ham V Bournemouth (Barclays Premier League).

The Premier League has started with a bang as we've seen shock results from Match-Day 1 through to Match-Day 3. West-Ham V Bournemouth was another classic, here a little review.

It was the first league meeting between the two-sides for 25 years  and for us it was worth the wait. Bournemouth started the game on the front foot and parnash attacking play, the first goal came in the 11th minute as quick passing football found the Bournemouth right-back Francis close to the West-Ham defensive area but lost the ball to West-Ham's Aaron Cresswell only for him to fluff his turn giving the ball away back to Francis capitalised on the situation to feed Callum Wilson who scored his first of his of the season and Bournemouth's as well. More pressure on the West-Ham defense and this time it was Carl Jenkinson that gave the ball away, and Bournemouth started their passing around the box, West-Ham won the ball back again but this time Cresswell gave the ball away in his 18, Callum Wilson was sharpest to react and he diked the ball over West-Ham goalie on the day Darren Randolph. 2-0 it was and Bournemouth were in total control in the first half, they ran the West-Ham defense so ragged that The Hammers had to make an early sub at center-halve (Ogbonna for Tomkins). Bournemouth could have been 2 or 3 nil up but Darren Randolph kept West-Ham in the game.

Second-Half; The Hammers started to state their claim on the game trying to force the third goal of the game, It eventually came when Mark Noble was fouled in the Bournemouth 18 which resulted into a penalty. Mark Noble stepped up to take the penalty and slotted it home to make it 2-1 on the day. West-Ham coach rallied his troops and in due time it was 2-2 when a throwing forced Diafra Sakho into the penalty area, forcing a save from Bournemouth goalie Arthur Boruc who spilled the shot and Cheikou Kouyate was quick to react slamming the ball to the roof of the net making it 2-2.
Momentum was with the home team as they pushed on for a third, while Bournemouth were conservative trying to hit West-Ham on the break. It was Eddie Howe's tactic that came to pass as Bournemouth's counter attack that consisted of Gradel, Wilson and Pugh. Pugh got into the box beating a defender in the process then finding the corner to make it 3-2 to the Seasiders. West-ham were all attack looking for an equalizer but Bournemouth were resolute and dealt with all the pressure. They even went on to get a 4th when Jenkinson fumbled a clearance and Max Gradel took advantage of the situation then by beating Jenkinson, paced into the box to be 1-on-1 with Randolph before Jenkinson pulled him back to concede a penalty and straight red card. Wilson took the penalty and scored to record his hat-trick. With few minutes Modibo Maiga came into the fray and scored what was tagged our goal of the week to make it 4-3. West-Ham had late chances but it was to no avail.

MANAGER OF THE WEEK: Eddie Howe (Bournemouth).

Got Bournemouth their first ever Premier League win as they saw off West-Ham at Boelyn Ground 4-3 over the weekend. Bournemouth have stuck to their philosophy and values, They're running football the old fashioned way and this could help them stay in the division.

The Manchester United NO7 opened his account for his team in their 3-1 Champions League qualifier 1st leg win. The Dutch winger scored a brace and was a total menace for the Club Brugge defence on the night.

Big props has to go this young lad as he scored Bournemouth first ever premier league goal and also he scored his first ever hat-trick in football.
