FOP's FPL Picks (Gameweek 18)

Good day FPL gaffers and welcome to the Boxing Day fixtures for the Premier League. All the teams will be stepping out today. So your fate will be known by the end of the day. SO LET'S GET TO WORK GETTING THOSE POINTS.

GK: Joe Hart (Manchester City)

Now we know that the blue boys from Manchester haven't been in the best of form but we expect them to end the slump against an abysmal Sunderland team who have once again been drawn into another relegation battle. Also, good news for Joe, his teammates Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta will be available in Saturday. This bodes well for his defence. Expect him to keep his 6 points on Saturday.

DF: Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham Hotspur)

Toby has been a very consistent fixture in the Spurs side this season. He has been able to chip in also with the odd assist or goal from time to time. They are playing against a Norwich side that were able to beat a poor Manchester United side but at Old Trafford. They might prove a little tough for Spurs but expect them to see this one through.

MF: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal FC)

The German maestro has been on splendid form this season. Notching two goals and fifteen assists already this season, expect him to add to his tally against a Soton side that have been struggling as of late. Especially with Giroud in scoring form and Walcott back in the side, there should be a lot of chances for him to do what he does best.

ST: Romelu Lukaku (Everton FC)

It seems even Everton's poor showing as a team cannot hamper Romelu scoring form. He has been a constant light in an Everton team struggling to get good results. He should continue his fine scoring form against a Newcastle defence that have been shaky this season. The matchup between him and Coloccini will be especially interesting to watch.

Captain's Pick: Xherdan Shaqiri (Stoke City).
The midfielder has always turned up when he plays the big boys and with Manchester United coming to the Britannia on boxing day, it might just be Shaqiri's time to shine again. Plus Manchester United have their backs against the wall and Stoke will definitely love to keep it that way.
