The tricky winger who has been on form for Leicester all season had a terrible week. First at Tottenham has was quiet though the foxes got all three points and then he missed a crucial penalty that could have given his team an edge to three points on Saturday. His performances have dipped in recent weeks, and now he has to step up to the player he was before December last year.
GOAL OF THE WEEK: Alvaro Negredo (Valencia).
He his short of goals this season but he showed that he still has a bit of quality with this goal. Valencia cleared a corner and it fell to Negredo at the half way line. He controlled first brushing off a defender then hit a 50 yard shot that beat the Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper and that made it 1-1. The match finished 2-2 leaving Valencia manager Gary Neville still without a win in the Spanish league.
SAVE OF THE WEEK: Mark Bunn (Aston Villa).
Bunn has impressed in recent appearances for Villa and he seems to justify why he should be NO 1 with this save. A long goal kick by Kasper Schmeichel found Jamie Vardy who beat the Villa offside trap and he hit the ball one time trying to lob Bunn, but the goalie was alert to rush back and push the ball away but unfortunately it lead to Leicester's goal as Okazaki tapped in the rebound.
MATCH OF THE WEEK: Chelsea V Everton (Barclays Premier League).
Six goal thriller at the bridge in which all goals came in the second half after a drab first half. Everton raced into a two goal lead when John Terry was forced to put the ball into his own net then Mirallas scored with a cool finish inside the box. We taught it will be a torrid day for Chelsea but a quick fire double from Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas made it 2-2 and this turned the edges of the sword to Everton. Chelsea totally ran the game from this point but it was Everton that got the third as Funes-Mori scored from a Deulofeu cross. Seven Minutes added on time and Everton looked conservative and sure of the three points but the die had not been cast as Chelsea captain John Terry scored the equalizer in stoppage time to rescue a point for the blues. This is a match tagged Terry's goals.
MANAGER OF THE WEEK: Remi Garde (Aston Villa).
The gaffer got his first win as Villa boss when they rallied the troops to beat Crystal Palace 1-0 and also they gained a point in their 1-1 draw against Leicester. After gaining 4 points this week they're only six points away from the relegation zone.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: Mirandes (Spanish Segunda).
Mirandes went away to beat La Liga foes Deportivo la Coruna 3-0 which saw them qualify for the quarter finals of the Copa Del Rey.
COMBINED TEAM OF THE WEEK:
GK: David De Gea (Manchester United).
The Spanish goalkeeper was the man of the match as United beat Premier league rivals Liverpool 1-0. De Gea was key in this win as he made countless saves to stop the Liverpool attack from scoring and the win took them to 5th place as they chance top 4 or should we say the title.
RB: Alex Vidal (Barcelona)
He had a great week as he got his first start for Barcelona helping them to beat Espanyol away in their Copa Del Rey fixture recording an assist In the process and also was part of the defense that kept a clean sheet in Barcelona's thrashing of Athletic Bilbao in their La Liga fixture.
CB: John Terry (Chelsea).
On his 700th appearance for the club JT scored the equalizer for Chelsea which saw them gain a late point and still keep Chelsea unbeaten under interim manager Guus Hiddink.
CB: Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus).
The center halve has been key in Juventus winning run of games. Chellini helped the old lady beat Udinese 4-0 as they remain second in the Serie A. Remember they were 17th at point in September.
LB: Filipe Luis (Atletico).
The Brazilian scored and set up a goal in his team's 3-0 win over Las Palmas which sees them top of the table in the La Liga .
CM: Jonjo Shelvey
He had a smashing debut for the goodies as he helped them beat West-ham last weekend. Shelvey was involved in both goals recording an assist to the assist twice(if there's anything like that in football). He was just a different type of player in the middle for Newcastle and was like the Libero they never had. Wonder why Swansea sold him.
LW: Antoine Griezmann (Atletico).
Scored a brace in Atletico's 3-0 win over Las Palmas. He has 18 goals this season and is looking like a hot player in the market, no wonder his suitors have to pay €100 million to get his signature.
AM: Paulo Dybala (Juventus)
Scored 2 and set up two as Juventus thrashed Udinese 4-0 in their Serie A fixture. Dybala has been one of Juventus key players this season and has helped them in their 10 game winning streak.
AM: Wayne Rooney (Manchester united).
Has been on form since the start of 2016 as he has wracked up 4 goals in 3 appearances. The Manchester United captain scored the winning goal as United beat rivals Liverpool 1-0 in their match over the weekend. Rooney has now scored 6 times which is the highest by any player that has played in this "PREMIER LEAGUE DERBY".
RW: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid).
Scored a brace in Real Madrid's 5-1 win over Sporting Gijon. Ronaldo is second top scorer in the la liga so far this season with 16 goals.
ST: Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli).
The Argentine has been a hit all season and is the first player in the top 5 leagues to hit 20 league goals. He scored a brace in Napoli's 3-1 win over Sassuolo which makes his team top of the rest in Serie A.
ST: Luis Suarez (Barcelona).
He should be the hottest striker in Europe at the moment and he capped it off with a hat-trick as he helped Barcelona thrash Athletic Bilbao 6-0 at camp nou. The result makes them 2nd on the log.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Luis Suarez (Barcelona).
The striker is just on another level and he doesn't want to stop yet. Highest goal scorer in La Liga at the moment with 18 goals and racking up with the assists as well. Scored a brilliant hat-trick against Bilbao and chucked in with an assist as well. Suarez has really settled at Barcelona and doesn't only work hard for himself but works hard for his team as well. If he continues this way, surely he will be in the top three best players in the world 2016.
