PLAYS OF THE WEEK

First we will love to apologize for the lack of ineptitude on our path for not bringing you Plays of the week for last week due to some technical issues, please bear with us. We will definitely make it up to you this week, first with this week's edition of PLAYS OF THE WEEK and a surprise for you loyals coming up. Enjoy

FLOP OF THE WEEK: Manchester City Defensive line (Back 5).

It was all rosy for the Citizens until stoppage time in the first half stoppage time when they conceded to Spurs in their Premier League fixture over the weekend. First Demichelis got a yellow card for protesting to referee Mark Clattenburg, and then second-half was a total disaster. Tottenham made it 2-1 through a header from Toby Alderweireld and Willy Caballero was in no mans land and also Lamela's goal for total school boy stuff by city in terms of defending. No need for to explain much just watch the video. City have now lost 3 games on the run, they need to find their mojo.

GOAL OF THE WEEK: Hatem Ben Arfa (Nice).

A rejected resurgence servant, we all know the quality is there but his attitude has not let him reach the level he is meant to be. Hartem picked up the ball in the opposing area, skinned five players and then placed the ball into the corner of the net. What a goal this was, enjoy.

SAVE OF THE WEEK: Costel Pantilimon (Sunderland).

Yes Manchester United were 3-0 winners on the day but Pantilimon put up a good performance  and he looked like the only shinning light in that Sunderland team. Michael Carrick played a forward pass which met Martial who bullied off his defender and then made a 2-on-1 situation in which Memphis ran through to collect a pass from Martial which made him 1-on-1 with Costel, the goalie quickly rushed out made himself big and palmed Memphis shot.

MATCH OF THE WEEK: Inter V Fiorentina (Serie A).
The table toppers had only conceded one goal all season and it looked like it was going to be a tight game between 2 of Italy favourites. In 30 minutes Inter were down 3-0 with goals from Illic (Pen) and a brace from Kalinic. To add to Inter woes Miranda got sent off just before half-time and the black and blue of milan did not look a shadow of the team they where all season.
Second-half Inter showed more bite and got 1 back through Mauro Icardi who made it 3-1, but it was Nicola Kalinic and Fiorentina's day as he wrapped up his hat-trick and made it 4-1 to the Viola. Reality check Inter? This is why Football is exciting.

MANAGER OF THE WEEK: Eduardo Berizzo (Celta Vigo).

The Celta manager rallied his team and got a famous 4-1 win over La Liga champions Barcelona. His made his team resolute at the back, and their counter-attacking football was on fleek as they beat the Barcelona high-line with ease. They look a threat this season Celta, could finish in the Europa League places.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Malaga (La Liga).

Malaga got a good away point versus title contenders Real Madrid as they drew 0-0 in the Santiago Bernabeu. Malaga look like the spoilers this season.

COMBINED TEAM OF THE WEEK: 4-5-1
GK: Carlos Kameni (Malaga).

The veteran goal-keeper was the man of the match for Malaga as he made key saves to salvage his team a point against Real Madrid.

LB: Kevin Mbabu (Newcastle).

The 19 years old was making his first start for Newcastle and looked like a player that has been in the heart of the team for years. He dealt with every situation that came his way and would have been a perfect day for him if Chelsea did not comeback to make it 2-2.

CB: Toby Alderweireld (Tottenham).

The versatile centre-halve was a on point for Spurs as they thrashed Manchester City 4-1 at White Hart Lane over the weekend. Toby was key in stopping Aguero from operating and also scored 1 of the 4 that went into the City net.

CB: Sebastian Squillaci (Bastia).

The french veteran scored a brace for Bastia as they beat their Toulouse 3-1 in their Ligue1 fixture over the weekend.

RB: Marcos Alonso (Fiorentina).

The versatile full-back was a problem for the Inter defence as his runs down the flanks always destabilized the way Inter defended, plus he was key in shutting down the Inter attack as well.

CM: Mathieu Flamini (Arsenal).

The Arsenal man got a rare start against Tottenham in his team's Capital One 3rd fixture and he became an instant hero as he scored a brace that saw Arsenal win the game 2-1 and go through to the 4th round.

CM: Ramires (Chelsea).

The Brazilian International came on with 17 minutes to go on the clock against Newcastle, plus Chelsea were trailing 2-0. He scored a thunderbolt that gave his team motivation and made it 2-1, and was also involved in getting the equaliser for Chelsea as his run into the box deceived the Newcastle goalie and the ball ended up in the net. He also had a chance that almost gave Chelsea the win but Tim Krul pushed his header wide.

LW: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal).

The Chile forward scored his first hat-trick for Arsenal as he helped the Gunners thrash Leicester City 5-2 in their Premier League fixture.

RW: Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Dortmund).

He has been on rich form this season as he has scored 13 goals in 12 appearances for BVB. He scored a brace against Damadart this weekend which got his team a point.

AM: Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo).

Rejected by Liverpool, scores a brace and assist a goal for his team against Barcelona. His quality on the night was beyond doubt the best in his career.

ST: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich).

Bayern were trailing to title rivals Wolfsburg in their midweek Bundesliga fixture and Robert Lewandowski came on at half-time to score a milestone (Five goals), which won Bayern the game 5-1. Plus over the weekend he scored a brace as Bayern thrashed Mainz 3-0 which made them remain top of the Bundesliga.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich).

An article came out this week saying a change of tactics have brought about Lewandowski's fine form this season and you can see how he is flourishing. Over the weekend he scored his 100th Bundesliga goal (Got the tally in 4 seasons). Lewandowski is just showing us he's one of the lethal No9's in the world right now, Make sure you check the score charts this season, he will surely be at the top.
